The Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment has urged aspiring migrant workers and recruiting agencies not to contact any individual, agency or middleman or make any financial transactions regarding jobs in Malaysia until the government issues an official announcement.

In an emergency notice issued on Wednesday (July 8), the ministry warned that engaging in any communication, agreement or payment before the formal recruitment process begins could expose job seekers to fraud.

The ministry also instructed that no medical examinations or related payments should be made before official approval is granted.

Recruiting agencies have been directed not to sign contracts, collect passports, arrange medical tests or receive any payments from Malaysia-bound workers until the government formally authorises the recruitment process.

The ministry said all official updates on recruitment for Malaysia will be announced through government channels and mainstream media, urging everyone to ignore rumours and avoid unauthorised brokers or financial transactions until then.
