DHAKA: The country’s remittance inflow grew 14.2 percent year-on-year to US$12.112 billion during the first four months and four days of the current fiscal year (FY27), from July 1 to November 4.
The inflow was $10.610 billion during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, according to the latest Bangladesh Bank data.
The country received $647 million in remittances during the first four days of November 2026, marking a 40.33 percent increase from the $461 million received during the same period in November 2025.
On November 4 alone, expatriate Bangladeshis sent home $126 million through formal banking channels.
The continued rise in remittance inflows reflects a positive trend in overseas earnings sent through formal channels, strengthening the country’s foreign exchange reserves and supporting external sector stability.
The latest figures indicate sustained growth in remittance earnings, one of Bangladesh’s major sources of foreign exchange.
