The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examination results will not be published on July 20 as previously planned.
Although the education boards had been preparing to announce the results following instructions from the Education Ministry, the schedule has been delayed due to administrative engagements. However, officials expect the results to be released later this month.
The information was confirmed by Prof. Syed Akhtaruzzaman, chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and president of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee.
Speaking to Jago News on Saturday (July 18), he said the target had been to publish the results by July 20, and the boards had completed the necessary preparations.
However, ongoing administrative priorities have kept key stakeholders occupied, preventing the result preparation process from being completed on time.
“As a result, the publication of the results will take a few more days. However, the delay will not be significant,” he said.
Asked whether the results could still be published within July, the board chairman replied, “We hope so. We expect to complete the remaining work and publish the results within this month.”
Under normal practice, SSC and equivalent examination results are published within 60 days of the completion of the written examinations.
This year’s SSC examinations began on April 21. The written exams under the nine general education boards concluded on May 20, while the written examinations for the Dakhil and SSC (Vocational) streams ended on May 24.
A total of 1,857,344 candidates registered for this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations. Of them, 1,418,398 sat for the SSC examinations under the nine general education boards, 304,286 appeared for the Dakhil examinations under the Madrasah Education Board, and 134,660 took the SSC (Vocational) examinations under the Technical Education Board.
