Education and Primary Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon on Saturday formally inaugurated the academic activities of Naogaon University at its temporary campus in the district town.
The inauguration took place through the unveiling of a commemorative plaque at the university’s temporary campus in the Barunkandi Mor area. Following the ceremony, the minister toured the university’s classrooms, modern library and computer laboratory.
Among those present at the inauguration were State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, Education Secretary Abdul Khaleque, University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof Dr Mamun Ahmed and UGC Member Prof Dr Abdullah Al Mamun.
Also attending the event were Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Director Prof Dr Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel, Naogaon University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Hasanat Ali, members of parliament from the district’s six constituencies, the deputy commissioner and the superintendent of police.
Following the inauguration at the temporary campus, the minister and other guests joined a reception for newly admitted students and a civic gathering at the Naogaon Sadar Upazila Parishad Auditorium at around 12:15 pm.
