The recruitment examination for assistant upazila youth development officer posts under the Department of Youth Development has been rescheduled for October 16 following allegations of a question paper leak.

The examination, originally scheduled for Saturday (October 10), was postponed shortly before it was due to begin after reports emerged that the question paper had circulated on social media.

The revised examination will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, according to an official notice. Candidates will be informed of further examination details through SMS.

The recruitment test was arranged for 242 posts under the 11th-grade pay scale, with more than 300,000 candidates expected to compete at 95 examination centres across Dhaka.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has formed a five-member investigation committee to probe the alleged leak. The committee has been asked to submit its report within three working days.

Authorities have said legal and disciplinary action will be taken against those found responsible following the investigation.

The postponement triggered protests by jobseekers at several locations in Dhaka, with demonstrators demanding accountability and a transparent recruitments.
