ARK band vocalist Hasan faced an unpleasant incident while performing at a concert marking the anniversary of the July Mass Uprising.
The popular singer was performing at the “Songs of the Monsoon Revolution” concert on Manik Mia Avenue when someone threw a bottle at him.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, triggering widespread criticism and renewed calls for stronger security for performers.
The video shows Hasan singing on stage with a microphone when a bottle suddenly flies toward him and hits his body, leaving him visibly startled. He resumed his performance shortly afterward.
Composer and music director Prince Mahmud condemned the incident in a social media post, questioning why members of the audience were throwing bottles at the singer.
He said some people in the front rows were also shouting “fake, fake” and called for those involved to be identified.
Prince Mahmud also questioned whether the organisers had taken adequate security measures, stressing that ensuring the safety of performers on stage should be a top priority for any successful event.
Music director Mir Masum commented on the post, saying it was time to boycott all public shows, while singer Ronti Das expressed shock at the incident, saying he had never witnessed such behaviour in his 36 years.
Many social media users have also called for those who threw the bottles to be identified and brought to justice.
Hasan has yet to make any official comment on the incident.
