Versatile Bangladeshi singer Nirjo Habib has returned to the music scene with his latest romantic single, “Obujh Prem”, released on 6 August under leading Bangladeshi music label G Series.
With more than a decade in music, Nirjo has built a diverse portfolio spanning solo albums, playback singing and television drama soundtracks. His solo album Nisshongota, playback song Chuye Dilam and more than 60 songs for Bangladeshi television dramas have helped establish him as a distinctive voice in the country’s contemporary music scene.
His popular song “Khub Eka” has surpassed 12 million views on YouTube, while his music is available on major global streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.
A musical journey beyond borders
Born into a musical family, Nirjo has increasingly been exploring music beyond the Bangla-language market. Alongside his Bangla originals, he has been working on original English and Hindi songs as well as multilingual cover versions, reflecting his ambition to reach audiences beyond Bangladesh.
Lyricist and composer Sirajum Munir, whom Nirjo regards as an elder brother and mentor, has played an important role in shaping his musical journey and creative development.
With “Obujh Prem”, Nirjo continues his effort to blend Bangladeshi musical sensibilities with a more international visual and production approach.
UK locations set the visual tone
The music video was filmed at scenic locations across the United Kingdom and features blogger and model Marjan Manik.
Nirjo Habib directed the video himself, with Ahmed Mintu serving as lead cinematographer and Fahim Imteaz as cinematographer. Hridoy Hasin handled the music arrangement, while Ismail Hossain was responsible for editing and colour grading.
Actress Jerin Bhuya, who was crowned Miss Kumarika 2016, worked as assistant director alongside Nirjo.
The UK setting gives the romantic track an international visual character while complementing its theme and mood.
More international projects ahead
Nirjo is already preparing his next music video, “Prarthona”, which will feature English model Tamsin.
Beyond his upcoming music releases, the singer is also working on several international music videos, web films and web series featuring artists from different countries.
These projects are being developed under 3rd Face Entertainment, reflecting Nirjo’s broader ambition to expand from music into cross-border audiovisual productions.
