“Jaya Ar Sharmin” is an 86-minute Bengali psychological drama set against the backdrop of the COVID-19 lockdown.

The story explores the changing relationship between Jaya, played by Jaya Ahsan, and her domestic worker Sharmin, portrayed by stage actor Mohsina Akter.

The film examines loneliness, emotional dependence and the class and power dynamics between the two women.

The awards were announced at the festival’s closing ceremony on Sunday.

The latest recognition further adds to Jaya Ahsan’s growing list of achievements in the regional film industry.
