Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan is set to collaborate with filmmaker Karan Johar on Kaaliya, an ambitious mythological creature feature to be directed by Sandeep Modi, known for the series The Night Manager.
According to a source , the film will be mounted on a large budget and is currently in pre-production.
The project brings together three National Award-winning talents: Aaryan, who won recognition for Chandu Champion; Modi, associated with Best Friends Forever; and Johar, recognised for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
The film is expected to be officially announced around Diwali, with a promotional video reportedly planned for attachment to screenings of Ramayana.
The makers have yet to formally announce the project.
Meanwhile, actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari are set to join singer Falguni Pathak at a garba festival in Mumbai to promote their upcoming film Yeh Prem Mol Liya.
The actors will take part in the Navratri celebrations and promote the film’s festive track, Jai Ambe, a garba song composed by Himesh Reshammiya.
According to the film’s makers, the track marks Reshammiya’s first garba composition. The appearance with Pathak, known for her popular Navratri performances in Mumbai, will bring the film’s music to a live festive setting.
The promotional event is expected to include interactions with fans and participation in the celebrations as the filmmakers seek to connect with audiences ahead of the release.
Directed by Sooraj Barjatya, Yeh Prem Mol Liya is backed by Rajshri Productions in association with Mahaveer Jain Films. The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on November 27, 2026.
