Saudi Arabia has introduced a multiple-entry Umrah visa valid for one year, allowing pilgrims to enter the Kingdom several times within 365 days and stay for a cumulative period of up to 90 days.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced the new visa on Monday, describing it as a major step towards enhancing the pilgrim experience and simplifying travel procedures in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Pilgrim Experience Programme.
Under the new system, the visa remains valid for 365 days from the date of issuance, enabling holders to make multiple visits to the Kingdom during that period. The total duration of stay, however, must not exceed 90 days.
To undertake each visit, pilgrims will be required to purchase an approved service package through the Nusuk platform. The duration of the package must not exceed the number of days remaining on the visa.
In addition, travellers must obtain an Umrah permit through the Nusuk application before arriving in Saudi Arabia.
The ministry said the visa will be automatically deactivated after each departure from the Kingdom and reactivated for subsequent visits once all regulatory requirements have been fulfilled.
However, the visa will not be valid during the annual Hajj season. It will remain suspended from 1 Dhu Al-Qi’dah to 13 Dhu Al-Hijjah, when entry for Umrah is restricted to facilitate Hajj operations.
The ministry said the initiative is intended to provide greater flexibility for pilgrims in planning their visits while improving the efficiency of digital and operational services throughout their journey.
Saudi Arabia has been steadily expanding digital services and easing travel procedures for pilgrims as part of its broader strategy to boost religious tourism and welcome millions of Umrah visitors each year. The latest visa reform is expected to make repeat visits easier and further strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a leading destination for Muslim pilgrims worldwide.
