Major reshuffle in police, 24 officers transferred

Twenty-four officers of the Bangladesh Police, including deputy inspectors general (DIGs), additional DIGs and superintendents of police (SPs), have been transferred and posted to different positions.

The reshuffle was announced in three separate notifications issued by the Police-1 Branch of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday.

The notifications, issued by order of the President, were signed by Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Toufiq Ahmed.

Three DIG-rank officers have been transferred and posted to new positions. Dr Md Akkas Uddin Bhuiyan has been transferred from SRHU to Police Staff College, Dhaka; Md Mahmudur Rahman from SB to Police Staff College, Dhaka; and Mohammad Hasan Bari Noor from CID to Mass Rapid Transit (MRT).

Twelve officers holding additional DIG and SP ranks have also been transferred and posted.

Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, SP at the Rangpur Range DIG’s Office (supernumerary additional DIG), has been posted as deputy commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP).

Sheikh Shariful Islam, deputy commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) (supernumerary additional DIG), has been posted as commandant (SP) of the In-Service Training Centre in Sherpur.

S M Shafiqul Islam, deputy commissioner of KMP (supernumerary additional DIG), has been posted as SP at the Mymensingh Range DIG’s Office.
Dr Md Saifuzzaman bin Anwar, SP at the Barishal Range DIG’s Office (supernumerary additional DIG), has been posted to the Police Headquarters in Dhaka in a temporary replacement (TR) position, with an attachment to the Central Police Hospital, Rajarbagh.

Shah Momtazul Islam, additional DIG of Rangpur Range, has been posted as commandant of the RRF, Chattogram, in the additional DIG capacity on current charge.

Md Mizanur Rahman, additional DIG at TDS, Dhaka, has been posted to the Police Training Centre (PTC) in Rangpur.

Mst Shirin Akter Jahan, SP of SRU (supernumerary additional DIG), has been posted as SP at Police Headquarters, Dhaka, in the same supernumerary additional DIG capacity.

Dr Md Manzure Alam Pramanik, AIG at Police Headquarters (supernumerary additional DIG), has been posted as SP of Tourist Police.

Md Mosharraf Hossain, director of SRB (additional DIG), has been transferred to Police Headquarters.

Mohammad Abdul Halim, TDS (supernumerary additional DIG), has been posted as SP at CID.

Mohammad Rezaul Masud, SP at CID (supernumerary additional DIG), has been posted as commandant of the In-Service Training Centre in Satkhira.
Mohammad Nazrul Islam, SP at CID (supernumerary additional DIG), has been posted as commandant of the In-Service Training Centre in Nilphamari.
Nine officers holding the ranks of SP and deputy commissioner have also been transferred and posted.

T M Mosharraf Hossain, SP at CID, has been posted as deputy commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP).

Syed Mohammad Farhad, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), has been posted as deputy commissioner of GMP.

SP Md Mahbubul Alam has been transferred from Police Staff College to CID as special superintendent of police.

SP Md Humayun Kabir has been transferred from Police Headquarters (TR) to Tourist Police.

Md Ashrafuzzaman, SP at SB, has been posted as deputy commissioner of KMP.

Mst Yasmin Khatun has been transferred from Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) as SP to SB.

Nishat Angela, AIG at Police Headquarters, has been posted as SP of Tourist Police.

Mohammad Imdad Hossain, deputy commissioner of Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP), has been posted as SP of SRU.

Kabir Ahmed, deputy commissioner of CMP, has been posted as deputy commissioner of KMP.

The Ministry of Home Affairs said the orders, issued in the public interest, would take effect immediately.
