The government has appointed Dhaka-8 lawmaker and Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed as the chairman of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Management Committee.
The appointment was announced in a notification issued on Thursday by the Health Services Division under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Deputy Secretary Kazi Sharif Uddin Ahmed signed the notification, which was sent to DMCH Director Brig Gen Dr Md Asaduzzaman.
According to the notification, Mirza Abbas was nominated as chairman of the hospital’s management committee by government order.
Mirza Abbas, the MP for Dhaka-8, has been receiving treatment at Prince Court Medical Centre in Malaysia.
Party sources said he has recovered from a serious illness and is gradually regaining his health.
