Four people died of dengue in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 1,163 new cases were reported—the highest number of daily infections recorded so far this year.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the figures in its daily dengue update issued by the Health Emergency Operations Centre and Control Room on Monday (August 31).
With the latest deaths, the number of dengue fatalities in the country this year has reached 97. The total number of reported cases has risen to 35,846.
On Sunday (August 30), three people died of dengue, while 1,097 new cases were reported.
