DHAKA: Six more people have died from dengue in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 1,655 patients have been hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country.
The latest deaths have raised the country’s dengue death toll this year to 190. So far this year, a total of 63,627 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals nationwide.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) provided the figures on Monday (September 21) through its Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room dengue dashboard.
Among the newly hospitalised patients, 217 were reported in Barishal Division, 314 in Chattogram, 281 in Dhaka Division outside the city corporations, 166 in Dhaka North City Corporation and 167 in Dhaka South City Corporation.
Khulna Division reported 271 new admissions, followed by 146 in Rajshahi, 43 in Mymensingh, 41 in Rangpur and nine in Sylhet.
