Four more children have died with suspected measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, while another 1,051 children were identified with the disease across Bangladesh, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In a press release issued on Sunday, the DGHS said all four deaths were classified as suspected measles-related fatalities.
Of the 1,051 new cases reported during the period, 113 were laboratory-confirmed measles infections, while 938 were classified as suspected cases.
Since March 15, the country has recorded 117,648 suspected measles cases, alongside 14,431 laboratory-confirmed infections among children.
During the same period, 100,137 patients have been admitted to hospitals, of whom 96,521 have already been discharged, the health authority said.
The nationwide measles death toll since March 15 has risen to 788 children, including 95 confirmed and 693 suspected measles-related deaths.
According to the DGHS, Dhaka Division has recorded the highest number of measles cases and deaths, followed by Rajshahi, Chattogram, Khulna, Barishal, Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.
