Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has extended financial assistance to Fatema Khanam, a meritorious student from Natore, to help her pursue her dream of becoming a doctor.
Fatema has earned an opportunity to study at a medical university in China.
However, financial hardship had threatened to derail her higher education.
After learning about her situation, the prime minister provided Tk 500,000 in financial assistance to cover her initial medical education expenses.
The assistance was handed over to Fatema on Thursday (August 27).
The support was made possible through the prime minister’s government fund following efforts by local lawmaker and Social Welfare State Minister Farzana Sharmin Putul.
The prime minister also assured Fatema that further financial assistance would be provided if needed to enable her to continue her studies.
