Two youths found dead with gunshot wounds in Khulna river

Police recovered the bodies of two young men with suspected gunshot wounds from the Atharobanki River in Rupsha upazila of Khulna on Monday.

The bodies were recovered around 1:30pm from the Singher Char area of Mosabbarpur village under Aichgati Union, police said.

The deceased were identified as Sohag, 35, son of Abdullah of Rajapur village, and Rezaul Karim, 32, a resident of Singher Char in the upazila.

According to Rupsha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Masum Khan, the bodies bore injury marks on different parts of the bodies, including the back of their heads, with apparent bullet wounds.

Police sent the bodies to the morgue of Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsies to determine the exact cause of death.

The circumstances surrounding their deaths remain unclear.

Police have launched an investigation to establish the motive behind the incident and identify those involved.
