The government has appointed new secretaries to the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Energy and Mineral Resources Division, and the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued separate notifications on Thursday announcing the appointments. Two additional secretaries were promoted to the rank of secretary before being posted to their new positions.
Md Obaidur Rahman has been appointed secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.
He had been serving as an officer attached to the Ministry of Public Administration and previously served as secretary of the Ministry of Industries.
He replaces Md Nazrul Islam, who retired as secretary of the Housing and Public Works Ministry on July 30.
Jesmin Nahar, an additional secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been promoted to secretary and appointed to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
The ministry’s outgoing secretary, Md Sakhawat Hossain, has been attached to the Ministry of Public Administration.
Meanwhile, Md Ziaul Haque, additional secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, has been promoted to secretary and posted to the same division.
The government also announced new appointments to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief as part of the latest reshuffle.
