Former Jhenaidah-1 constituency MP, former upazila chairman and former president of the banned Jhenaidah district unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League, Nayeb Ali Zoardar, has been arrested by Shailkupa police.
He was arrested from his residence in front of the Arappur Jamtala Model Mosque in Jhenaidah town at around 2:30am on Saturday.
Family members said a team of police went to Zoardar’s residence around 2:30am and arrested him.
Police said a case had been filed over a procession organized by the banned Chhatra League in Shailkupa. Zoardar was arrested because his name was included in the case.
Shailkupa Police Station Officer-in-Charge Humayun Kabir Molla said, “He was arrested in a case filed over sabotage and has been sent to court.” Source Manabzamin.
