Airtel, a well-known telecommunications brand in Bangladesh for the past 16 years, has been rebranded as ‘Circle’.

Robi Axiata PLC officially unveiled the new brand at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka on Monday, marking the end of Airtel’s 16-year journey under its previous identity.

However, the rebranding will not affect customers’ existing services or benefits, Robi said. Airtel customers will retain their 016 numbers, existing services, packages and balances.

Their mobile financial services (MFS) accounts, wallets, transactions and customer information will also remain secure and operational.

Robi officials said Airtel had grown alongside Bangladesh’s youth over the past 16 years, becoming closely associated with their lifestyles, interests and aspirations.

Circle is intended to build on that legacy while responding to changing digital realities and increasingly connected lifestyles.

The new brand combines Airtel’s youth-focused identity with enhanced digital capabilities, modern services and future-oriented technologies. Circle also plans to expand the use of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies across its digital services.

The core concept behind Circle is “real connection”—creating meaningful relationships among people and helping customers stay connected with important individuals, communities and experiences.

The brand aims to provide young people with reliable connectivity and richer experiences across entertainment, gaming, content creation and everyday digital activities.

Robi Axiata Managing Director and CEO Ziad Satara said Airtel had grown with Bangladesh’s youth for 16 years and that Circle represents the next chapter of that journey.

“Although the brand name has changed, our core commitment remains unchanged,” he said.

Satara said connectivity is no longer simply about connecting more people but about making those connections more meaningful. Circle, he added, marks an important new stage in Airtel’s evolution.

Circle’s brand promise is “Real Connection, Always On,” reflecting its commitment to remaining a reliable companion for young people.

Robi said customers would continue to receive uninterrupted services throughout the rebranding process. Their MFS wallets, accounts, transactions and personal information will remain secure and operational.

The company said Circle would continue investing in innovation and new services to meet the evolving needs of Bangladesh’s digitally driven generation, helping young people connect more meaningfully with their communities and pursue their potential.
