The government has extended the contractual appointments of Cabinet Secretary Dr Nasimul Gani and Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Md Ehsanul Haque for another year.
The extensions will take effect from August 18, 2026, following the expiry of their previous contractual terms. The Ministry of Public Administration issued separate notifications on Monday confirming the extensions.
Under Section 49 of the Government Service Act, 2018, Nasimul Gani has been reappointed as Cabinet Secretary for one year on the same contractual terms as before.
Ehsanul Haque has also been reappointed as Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration for one year.
Nasimul Gani became Cabinet Secretary on February 16 this year.
Before that, he served as Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs on a contractual basis.
Ehsanul Haque was appointed Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration on a contractual basis in October last year.
He previously served as Secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Division.
