Professor Mobasher Monem, chairman of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC), has resigned from his post.

PSC Public Relations Officer S M Matiur Rahman told Sara Bangla on Tuesday that Professor Monem submitted his resignation letter to the PSC Secretariat.

“The chairman’s resignation letter is being taken to the President’s Office,” he said.

The exact reason for Professor Monem’s resignation was not immediately known. Attempts to contact him for comment were unsuccessful.

Following the change in power after the July mass uprising, then-PSC Chairman Sohorab Hossain and other commission members resigned on October 8, 2024.

The following day, October 9, Professor Mobasher Monem, a professor of Public Administration at the University of Dhaka, was appointed PSC chairman.
