Police in Chattogram have arrested alleged top criminal Mobarak, locally known as “Golakata Mobarak” or “Throat-Cutter Mobarak”, along with three of his associates and seized four firearms.
Mobarak is also known as an associate of another alleged top criminal, David Imon, who is currently in jail.
Chattogram District Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Md Russell confirmed the arrests to media on Wednesday night.
He said a detailed press briefing on the identities of the detainees, the recovered firearms and other aspects of the operation would be held at the Chattogram Superintendent of Police’s office in the Nasirabad No. 2 Gate area.
