US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T Christensen is making a three-day tour of five districts in Rangpur Division—Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Panchagarh, Thakurgaon and Dinajpur.
On Sunday (August 30), Christensen visited the Teesta Barrage site in Lalmonirhat in the afternoon. After the visit, he left for Panchagarh.
On Monday (August 31) and Tuesday (September 1), the ambassador is scheduled to visit Panchagarh and Thakurgaon before travelling to Saidpur in Nilphamari.
During his stay in Saidpur, he is expected to visit the Saidpur Railway Workshop, Railway Museum, Chini Mosque and a Christian church.
The purpose of the ambassador’s visit has not been disclosed. During the three-day tour, he is scheduled to visit various installations, factories, religious institutions and tea gardens in the five districts.
Christensen’s wife, former MP Engineer Shaharin Islam Chowdhury Tuhin, convenor of the Association of Engineers Bangladesh (AEB), and others were present during the visit.
