Police have arrested two people and recovered firearms, ammunition and equipment allegedly used to manufacture weapons during a raid in Hathazari, Chattogram.
The raid was conducted around 8pm on Monday (August 31) in Mirzapur Union of Hathazari Police Station area.
The arrested men were identified as Jamal Hossain and Md Kabir, both from the area.
Police said they launched the operation based on a tip-off at a location in Ward No. 2 of Mirzapur Union. The suspects were allegedly manufacturing weapons when police raided the site and caught them in the act.
Authorities are investigating where the weapons were being supplied and whether others were involved in the operation.
