DHAKA: Electricity supply will remain suspended for eight consecutive hours in several areas of Boalkhali upazila in Chattogram on Tuesday (September 22) due to emergency maintenance work.
The information was announced in a notice issued on Monday (September 21) by the Boalkhali Zonal Office of Chattogram Palli Bidyut Samity-1.
According to the notice, tree-cutting work will be carried out around the transmission line connected to Feeder No. 3 of the Phultala Substation under the Boalkhali Zonal Office. As a result, electricity supply will remain suspended from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Tuesday.
The affected areas include Churakhali Bridge, Ayahed Ali Pukurpar, Hangs Mahajon’s House, Shefu Chairman’s House, Banglapara, Pakkir Pol, Afzal Talukdar’s House, Harun Chairman’s House, Gabtala, Beijja Pukurpar, Arab Tendal’s House, Jinnat Ali’s House, Dena Pukurpar, Lalar Dighi Par, Kadurkhil Union Parishad, Kadurkhil Muslim High School, Al-Quran Academy, Buddhum Fakir’s Shrine, Karim Shah’s Shrine, and surrounding areas.
The electricity supply will be restored immediately if the maintenance work is completed ahead of the scheduled time.
Authorities have expressed regret to customers in the affected areas for the temporary inconvenience and said the maintenance work is necessary to help ensure uninterrupted electricity service.
