The Education Ministry has instructed all educational institutions across Bangladesh to submit nominations for eligible individuals, institutions, groups and organisations for the Independence Award 2027, the country’s highest civilian honour.
The award will recognise outstanding and distinguished contributions in 13 fields set by the government. Nominations must be submitted by November 1.
The Secondary and Higher Education Division issued a letter to this effect on Tuesday (September 29), signed by Deputy Secretary (Additional Charge) Liuza-ul-Jannah.
According to the letter, nominations are being sought for contributions in areas including independence and the Liberation War, science and technology, medicine, education, literature, culture, sports, rural development, social or public service, population control, public administration, research and training, and any other field determined by the government.
The nomination proposals must be prepared in the prescribed format in accordance with the “Guidelines on Independence Award” issued by the Cabinet Division.
The ministry has asked its departments, agencies and institutions to submit nominations of eligible individuals or organisations working under the Secondary and Higher Education Division, along with relevant supporting documents.
A total of 30 sets of nomination proposals must be submitted to the Coordination Branch by November 1. Both hard and soft copies have been requested, with the soft copies to be prepared using the Nikosh font.
Soft copies can be sent by email to [email protected] or through the D-Noth system. Necessary information and the prescribed nomination form are available on the Cabinet Division’s website.
The ministry has urged all concerned to submit the nomination proposals and supporting documents within the stipulated deadline.
