Online birth and death registration services will remain suspended for six days due to maintenance of the Birth and Death Registration Information System (BDRIS), the Office of the Registrar General has said.
In a notice issued on Monday (October 19), the office said all activities related to birth and death registration would remain suspended from 6pm on October 19 until 6am on October 25.
The temporary suspension is necessary to carry out maintenance work on the BDRIS software, according to the notice.
During this period, citizens will not be able to access online birth and death registration services.
Birth registration certificates are required for various essential services, including admission to educational institutions, passport applications and access to government services. Death registration is also necessary for various administrative and legal purposes.
The Office of the Registrar General said online services are expected to resume at 6am on October 25, after the maintenance work is completed.
