Tarique Rahman on Wednesday visited stalls set up by government primary schools under the ‘Green School’ programme, encouraging children to keep their schools clean and practice kindness in daily life.
The Prime Minister toured the exhibition at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre after inaugurating the programme by planting a tree.
Students and teachers from 60 districts showcased innovative projects, including educational activities, local heritage, handicrafts and environmental initiatives.
Organised by the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, the event also featured the Primary Education Medal 2026 and the launch of a nationwide tree plantation campaign under the Green School initiative.
During the visit, Tarique interacted warmly with students and teachers, praising their creativity and enthusiasm. He engaged with children at different stalls, where they presented handmade models, learning materials and innovative ideas.
Teachers briefed him on student attendance, playground facilities and activities under the “Joyful Learning” and “Digital Education” programmes.
The Prime Minister also showed interest in students’ daily routines, games and classroom experiences.
At one stall, students shared how they save part of their tiffin money to support underprivileged classmates. Appreciating their compassion, Tarique said, “You are doing a very good job.”
Emphasising cleanliness, he urged students to take responsibility for their surroundings. “Keep your school clean. Whenever you see litter, put it in the proper bin,” he told them, drawing an enthusiastic response from the children.
