The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) on Sunday published the final results of the 47th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination, provisionally recommending 1,521 candidates for government service, including 1,320 for cadre posts and 201 for non-cadre positions.
The results were released on the PSC’s website after the commission completed all administrative and technical procedures ahead of schedule.
Earlier, PSC Chairman Professor Mobashwer Monem had indicated that the final results were likely to be published in the first week of July. However, officials said the evaluation, verification and compilation of marks were completed sooner than expected, enabling the commission to announce the results on Sunday.
According to the published results, 1,320 successful candidates have been provisionally recommended for appointment to various cadre services, while another 201 candidates have been recommended for first-class non-cadre posts.
PSC officials said the recommendations remain provisional and are subject to the completion of necessary formalities, including verification by the relevant authorities.
A total of 3,631 candidates had earlier qualified in the written examination of the 47th BCS. Their viva voce examinations began in May and concluded recently, paving the way for the publication of the final results.
The 47th BCS recruitment process is one of the country’s largest competitive examinations, attracting tens of thousands of graduates seeking appointments in key government services, including administration, police, foreign affairs, taxation, education, health and other cadres.
The commission said it accelerated the final verification process immediately after the completion of the oral examinations to ensure the timely publication of the results.
PSC officials also reiterated their commitment to streamlining the civil service recruitment process under the commission’s “One BCS, One Year” roadmap, an initiative designed to complete each BCS recruitment cycle within a year.
The reform aims to reduce the lengthy delays that have traditionally characterised BCS recruitment and enable government agencies to fill vacant positions more efficiently.
