NEW YORK, Sept 25, 2026: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman held a bilateral meeting with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and ways to further strengthen bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Thailand, according to the prime minister’s Assistant Press Secretary KM Nazmul Haque.
The meeting was part of Tarique Rahman’s series of bilateral and sideline engagements with heads of state and government during his visit to New York.
The discussions focused broadly on strengthening bilateral cooperation, including trade, investment, economic development, skilled manpower, education, technology and health, as well as coordination at multilateral forums.
Thai Prime Minister Anutin addressed the UN General Debate on September 24, immediately before Tarique Rahman, who delivered his maiden address to the UN General Assembly later that day.
Tarique Rahman arrived in New York on September 21 to attend the 81st UN General Assembly and held a number of meetings with world leaders and senior officials during the visit.
