Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called on people to remain alert against conspiracies while focusing on rebuilding the country.
“Many things have happened, movements have taken place, struggles have occurred, and there have been debates and discussions. Now is the time to rebuild the country and move it forward,” he said.
“Now is the time to remain patient, keep a cool head, stay vigilant against those who want to conspire, and make people aware of such attempts. At the same time, we must gradually implement the plans we have presented before the people and the initiatives we want to undertake for rebuilding the country,” he added.
The prime minister made the remarks while addressing a discussion meeting organised by the BNP at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh auditorium in Farmgate on Tuesday, marking the second anniversary of the July uprising.
Highlighting people’s expectations, Rahman said citizens now want the government to implement its commitments.
“People want peace on the streets, proper education for their children, healthcare facilities and security. They want opportunities for employment, business and jobs according to their abilities. This is what the people want,” he said.
“At the same time, people want to exercise their political rights at the appropriate time. I believe you will agree with me to some extent. So, let us dedicate ourselves to fulfilling what the people want,” he added.
