A fresh debate has emerged over the future of the Taliban government in Afghanistan. Afghanistan expert Hasan Khan has expressed concern that the Taliban regime could collapse by 2027.

The Taliban seized power in Afghanistan in 2021 and have since consolidated their control over the country. However, questions have long remained over the sustainability of their rule amid the economic crisis, international isolation, human rights concerns and internal divisions.
