Newly elected President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir paid tribute to the graves of BNP founder and former president Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Khaleda Zia on Friday.
He visited the graves after offering Juma prayers, before taking his oath of office at Bangabhaban, said BNP Media Cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan.
Fakhrul placed floral wreaths at the graves, recited Surah Fatiha and offered prayers for the departed leaders.
