DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leaders have agreed to step up the party’s organisational activities at a joint meeting held at its central office in Nayapaltan on Sunday.
The meeting, which began at 5pm, also called for unity against what the party described as attempts to destabilise the country through planned acts of violence, according to a BNP statement.
The meeting was chaired by BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
A number of senior BNP leaders attended the meeting, including Joint Secretaries General Khairul Kabir Khokon, Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, Abdus Salam Azad and Syed Emran Saleh Prince.
Organising secretaries Kazi Syedul Alam Babul, Mahbuber Rahman Shamim, Syed Shaheen Shawkot, Asadul Habib Dulu, Principal Selim Bhuiyan, Shariful Alam, Shama Obaed and Anindya Islam Amit were also present.
Leaders of Dhaka North and South city BNP, along with the central presidents and general secretaries of the party’s youth, volunteer and student wings, also attended the meeting.
The meeting brought together senior leaders from the party’s central and affiliated organisations to discuss organisational activities and the political situation, the statement said.
