Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Leader of the Opposition Dr Shafiqur Rahman exchanged greetings in the Jatiya Sangsad on Monday following the conclusion of the budget session.
After the parliamentary sitting was adjourned, Dr Shafiqur walked over to the Prime Minister and shook hands with him in a cordial gesture inside the House.
Other opposition lawmakers also exchanged greetings with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on the occasion.
The brief interaction took place after the National Parliament completed proceedings related to the national budget, marking a rare display of goodwill between the treasury and opposition benches.
