Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman on Saturday held an organisational meeting with party leaders from several districts of Rangpur division as part of the BNP’s ongoing initiative to strengthen and reorganise its grassroots units across the country.
The meeting began in the afternoon at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan, Dhaka, according to a press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Press Wing.
Leaders from Nilphamari, Kurigram, Gaibandha and Lalmonirhat districts, along with representatives from the Rangpur district and Rangpur metropolitan units, attended the meeting.
The discussion focused on reviewing the organisational activities of the party at the grassroots level, assessing the performance of local units and identifying measures to further strengthen the BNP’s organisational structure ahead of future political programmes.
The meeting is part of a series of organisational consultations being conducted by the BNP leadership with district and metropolitan units nationwide to improve coordination, enhance party discipline and make local committees more effective.
Party leaders briefed the Prime Minister and BNP Chairman on the organisational situation in their respective districts, ongoing political activities and challenges faced by local units. They also discussed ways to increase public engagement and reinforce the party’s presence at the grassroots level.
The BNP leadership has been holding similar meetings with leaders from different regions in recent weeks as part of its broader organisational drive aimed at consolidating the party’s structure and ensuring stronger coordination between the central leadership and grassroots activists.
According to the Press Wing, the organisational meetings are intended to review party affairs comprehensively and reinforce the BNP’s organisational capacity across the country.
