Bangladesh made a winning start to their men’s kabaddi campaign at the Asian Games, edging South Korea 39-35 in a thrilling Group A opener at Tokai Citizen Gymnasium in Nagoya on Monday.
Bangladesh led 17-16 at halftime before holding off a strong Korean challenge to secure a four-point victory.
Bangladesh scored four lona, while South Korea managed two. The Koreans collected eight bonus points, compared with Bangladesh’s six.
Bangladesh will return to action later on Monday against Chinese Taipei in their second Group A match, with the result potentially important for their medal hopes.
