Five relatives of UK-based expatriates have won motorcycle and electronic device coupons for receiving the highest amounts of remittances directly into their bKash accounts through Taptap Send from the United Kingdom.
The prizes were handed over to the winners at a ceremony recently held at the bKash head office.
The top remittance recipient won a motorcycle coupon worth Tk 180,000, while the other winners received electronic device coupons worth Tk 50,000, Tk 30,000, Tk 25,000 and Tk 15,000, respectively.
The winners were selected based on the amount of remittances they received from UK-based relatives between August 1 and 31, 2026.
The campaign was designed to encourage expatriates to send remittances through safe, convenient and legal channels, with remittances serving as a vital source of support for Bangladesh’s economy.
bKash’s remittance service has been gaining popularity among expatriates and their families for its security, convenience and ease of use.
Currently, expatriates can instantly send remittances to their loved ones’ bKash accounts through 142 international money transfer operators from more than 170 countries. The remittances are settled through 28 leading commercial banks in Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, recipients can cash out remittances from nearly 2,500 ATMs of leading commercial banks across the country at a charge of Tk 7 per Tk 1,000, using the bKash app or by dialling *247#.
