International Standard University (ISU) has launched a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, becoming one of the latest private universities in Bangladesh to introduce a specialised undergraduate programme in the rapidly growing field.
The programme, to be offered under the university’s Faculty of Advanced Science and Computing, received formal approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC) on June 24.
According to the university, the programme has been introduced to meet the growing demand for AI and data science professionals in Bangladesh and the global job market by providing students with industry-oriented and affordable higher education.
The 152-credit programme will cover key areas including artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning, robotics and cybersecurity. Students will also have opportunities to participate in research, laboratory-based learning and industry-linked projects.
ISU said the programme aims to produce skilled engineers capable of contributing to the country’s technology sector while pursuing higher studies and research. Merit-based tuition waivers will also be available for eligible students.
Established with a focus on career-oriented education, ISU currently offers eight academic departments under five faculties, including programmes in business administration, computer science and engineering, textile engineering, apparel merchandising and management, English, law and public health.
