Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat has said passengers at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka are receiving their baggage within 15 to 20 minutes of getting off their flights.

He made the remarks during a surprise visit to the airport at around 10:30pm on Friday, October 2.

During the inspection, the minister visited the baggage carousel area and spoke directly with passengers waiting for their luggage.

He asked them about the time required to collect their baggage and their overall experience with airport services.

According to the minister, passengers expressed satisfaction with the baggage delivery system and said they were receiving their luggage within the expected timeframe.

Millat claimed that passengers were no longer facing any inconvenience at the airport.

However, he alleged that a particular group was attempting to create disorder at the airport to undermine the government’s achievements and portray its positive initiatives negatively.

The minister instructed the relevant officials to further improve passenger services, emphasising that passengers’ comfort and satisfaction must remain the top priorities in all airport operations.

He also directed officials to increase the number of baggage trolleys promptly to make luggage collection more convenient.

Relevant airport officials were present during the inspection.
