DHAKA: Temperatures in Dhaka and surrounding areas may rise slightly, increasing the intensity of the heat, while dry weather is expected to prevail. Although the sky may remain partly cloudy in the morning, no significant rainfall is expected to bring relief to residents of the capital.

The weather may feel hotter than usual due to high levels of moisture in the air, with discomfort likely to increase when sunshine appears. While limited weather changes may occur in river basins and other parts of the country, generally dry conditions are expected to continue in Dhaka.

The Dhaka Meteorological Office confirmed the forecast in a special weather bulletin issued for Dhaka and its surrounding areas for the six hours from 7am on Sunday (September 27).

According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 26.4°C at 6am, while humidity stood at 90 percent. Winds were blowing from the south or southeast at a speed of 10–15 kilometres per hour.

No rainfall was recorded in Dhaka over the previous 24 hours. The highest temperature recorded in the capital the previous day was 34.5°C.

The sun is expected to set at 5:50pm on Sunday and rise at 5:49am on Monday.

Meanwhile, no warning or danger signal was required for any of the country’s inland river ports between **5am and 1pm** on Sunday.

According to the national weather bulletin issued Saturday night, light rain may occur at one or two places in each of the country’s eight divisions. However, dry conditions are expected to dominate Dhaka, with both daytime and nighttime temperatures likely to rise slightly.
