Iran has moved beyond defensive operations and is now “on the threshold of offensive operations,” a senior commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has said, according to Iranian state media.
IRGC commander in Tehran Hassan Hassan sadhe described the development as a turning point, saying its impact would soon be understood by Iran’s adversaries.
“This is a turning point whose effects the enemies will soon understand,” Hassanzadeh said.
He said Iranian forces were prepared to deploy rapidly to any location in the country and respond against adversaries under various circumstances.
Hassanzadeh added that Iran has strengthened its capabilities for rapid troop movements and specialised operations through repeated military exercises in recent years.
The commander also rejected US President Donald Trump’s claims that American strikes had destroyed Iran’s military capabilities.
