Flights at King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh, have been suspended until 3am Bangladesh time on Monday, October 12.

Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation authority announced the temporary suspension following an attack on the airport on Saturday, October 10. The move aims to assess damage to the airport and ensure the safety of its facilities.

According to Saudi authorities, at least 12 people were killed and 309 injured in the attack. Two of the deceased were Bangladeshi nationals.

The suspension has led to flight cancellations and diversions. Several Riyadh-bound flights from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka have been cancelled, while Biman Bangladesh Airlines has also suspended its Dhaka–Riyadh–Dhaka services.
