The United States is continuing talks with Iran, while no decision has yet been made on launching another major attack, US President Donald Trump said on Friday, according to multiple US media reports.
Trump said Washington was engaged in discussions with Tehran and had not yet decided whether to launch a new large-scale military operation.
However, he warned that the US military was “ready” to intensify its campaign if necessary.
Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal, citing multiple sources familiar with the matter, reported that Bahrain and Kuwait had secretly sent fighter jets to strike military bases inside Iran earlier this month.
If confirmed, the attacks would mark their first direct retaliatory action against Tehran.
The New York Times, citing four people familiar with the discussions, reported that Trump met with senior advisers on Friday to consider whether to intensify military action against Iran.
Separately, the European Union imposed new sanctions on five Iranian judges and the head of a prominent cyber group over serious human rights violations.
