State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit on Friday inaugurated the reconstruction and widening of a four-kilometre road linking the RHD road with Rajganj GC Road in his parliamentary constituency, fulfilling a pledge made ahead of the national election.
Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony, the state minister said the government, under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, is working to implement every promise made to the people before the election.
He urged local leaders and activists to help maintain peace and order in their respective areas and called on residents to cooperate with the contractor while ensuring the project is completed with quality standards.
Amit also said initiatives are underway to resume private airline flights on the Jessore-Dhaka and Dhaka-Jessore routes, which were recently suspended.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Director of the Local Government Division in Jessore Rafiqul Hasan, LGED Executive Engineer Ahmed Mahbubur Rahman, Jessore District BNP President Advocate Syed Saberul Haque Sabu, General Secretary and District Council Administrator Delwar Hossain Khokon, former Vice-President Golam Reza Dulu, former Publicity Secretary Advocate Haji Anisur Rahman Mukul, and several local BNP, Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal leaders, among other officials and community representatives.
