At least seven explosions were reported within 20 minutes in Dubai’s Jebel Ali industrial zone early Wednesday, sending thick plumes of black smoke into the sky and triggering widespread concern as tensions continue to escalate amid the ongoing US-Iran conflict.
Videos circulating on social media showed flames and dense smoke rising near the Jebel Ali Port and surrounding industrial facilities. The footage quickly went viral, although the authenticity of some videos could not be independently verified.
According to reports citing Emirati officials, the cause of the explosions has not yet been officially confirmed. Some regional media suggested the possibility of a missile attack, while others reported that a fire may have broken out at a fuel storage or warehouse facility near the port. Authorities are continuing their investigation.
No official information on casualties or the extent of damage had been released at the time of filing this report. Emirati authorities have also reportedly detained two individuals for filming the incident, according to regional media reports.
