Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is on his way back to Dhaka after completing a five-day visit to New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
After leaving New York, the prime minister and his entourage arrived in Dubai on Saturday evening.
He is scheduled to depart Dubai for Dhaka on an Emirates flight at 2am and is expected to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 8:40am on September 27, according to officials.
During his New York visit, Tarique Rahman addressed the UN General Assembly in Bangla for the first time, highlighting Bangladesh’s positions on global peace and security, climate change, sustainable development, economic cooperation and the Rohingya crisis.
He also held bilateral meetings with several world leaders and discussions with UN officials, development partners and representatives of international organisations.
The visit also saw the signing of an agreement between Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Boeing to purchase 11 aircraft, as part of Bangladesh’s economic diplomacy efforts.
