Actress Ridhika’s boyfriend arrested in suicide abetment case

Police have arrested Hasibur Rahman, the boyfriend of model and actress Lina Akter Ridhika, in a case filed over alleged abetment to suicide. He was arrested from the scene after going there to see Ridhika on the day of her death.

Officer-in-Charge of Vatara Police Station Mazharul Islam confirmed the arrest on Sunday morning.

According to police, Ridhika’s mother filed a case on Saturday accusing Hasibur of abetting her daughter’s suicide. He was subsequently sent to court.

Police said Ridhika’s body was recovered from a residence in the Vatara area early Saturday. Preliminary information suggests that she had an argument with Hasibur shortly before her death.

Police further said Ridhika was on a video call with Hasibur at the time of the incident. Although the death initially appears to be a suicide, investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding her death.

Police said the investigation will determine the exact cause of death and whether anyone else was involved.
