British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke said the UK-Bangladesh partnership continues to grow stronger, driven by deep people-to-people ties, vibrant trade and investment, and cooperation on regional and global issues.
She made the remarks on Sunday (August 30) after meeting State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir at the Foreign Ministry in Dhaka.
Cooke said the discussions covered a range of shared priorities, including trade and investment, migration cooperation and support for the Rohingya response.
“Regional and international issues of mutual interest also figured prominently in our discussions,” she said.
Highlighting the longstanding ties between the two countries, the British envoy said the relationship was built on strong connections between their peoples and strengthened by close economic and diplomatic cooperation.
Cooke expressed her readiness to work closely with the state minister and the Bangladesh government to further deepen bilateral relations and turn the partnership into tangible benefits for both countries.
“I look forward to working closely with the Honourable State Minister and the Government of Bangladesh to build on our strong partnership and deliver tangible benefits for both our countries,” she said.
